The Towy Trailblazers have done it! This July, a determined team from Towy Castle Care Home took on the Gower Peninsula Mighty Hike — and not only conquered the gruelling 26-mile trek but also smashed their fundraising target in the process.

Made up of Nurses, Carers and Managers, the team — Bronwen, Mandy, Karen, Hannah, Gemma, Lorna, Caitlin, Nao, Ellie and Helen - swapped their uniforms for hiking boots to help raise vital funds for people living with cancer.

Battling Welsh coastal paths, steep hills, slippery trails and the Welsh weather, the group showed incredible team spirit from start to finish. The Trailblazers crossed the finish line 13 hours after setting off – an incredible achievement.

Originally aiming to raise £500 - enough to fund a Macmillan Nurse for two days - the team has so far raised an incredible £2,735, enough to fund almost eleven days of specialist nursing care for people and families who need it most.

There are still around 3 million people living with cancer in the United Kingdom today, and Macmillan aims to be there for every single one. But they cannot do it alone - and every donation really does make a difference. There is still time to help Team Towy push their total even higher. If you can spare anything, please support this amazing cause:

Swollen feet, tired legs and sore shoulders aside, the Towy Trailblazers say every ache was worth it to help make sure no one faces cancer alone.

Congratulations, Team Towy!
