Towy Castle was originally developed as a mansion during the 18th and 19th century. It is set in 3 acres of grounds which offer spectacular views over the Towy estuary. It has operated as a care home for over 35 years and for the
last 24 years, has been successfully run by the previous owners.
The philosophy of the home is that the care of the individual is the number one priority and that each resident should be treated with diginity and respect. The overall objective of the home is to have the highest standard of care, thereby ensuring that our residents consider Towy Castle as their home and not just a place to live. The staff at Towy Castle are dedicated well trained people many of whom have worked at Towy Castle for several years.

All bedrooms have en-suite facilities many with stunning views over the Towy Estuary and surrounding countryside.
Visiting
In addition to providing long term residential care, the home also provides a day care service where individuals can come into Towy Castle for the day and use the facilities. This service provides respite for carers and family members and provides individuals the opportunity to interact socially with others.

Pauline began work at Towy Castle Care Home 29 years ago in May 1995, starting as a care practitioner with no previous experience in the care industry. Since then she has continually developed and progressed in her personal development. Building her career in care and she has benefited from the right balance of encouragement and leadership from others. Pauline says she has the privilege to be employed in an industry where we can strive to make a difference in elderly care, promoting a better quality of life, respect and dignity - very much as individuals deserve. I adopt a holistic approach, always promoting an improved quality of life.
When My Choice Healthcare acquired Towy Castle at the beginning of January, 2024, from the outset, Pauline has felt excited to be part of a new organisation. Sharing their vision and look forward to working as part of the extended team; supporting and implementing our aspirations and plans in developing Towy Castle further.
Since starting her career (under three different owners) with Towy Castle, the Home has grown over the years, from 20 beds to our existing 61 bed occupancy. We are located in a lovely location, enjoying beautiful and scenic views of the Towy estuary.
Pauline has been the Registered Manager here since 2017 with a HNC in Care Management.
Sharon joined Towy Castle Care Home 25 years ago when her children were young; firstly working night shifts, gaining her NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care and achieving NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care whilst working as a morning shift manager.
Sharon progressed with her NVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management in 2011 which coincided with the opening of our dementia care facility.
Sharon believes in establishing trust and building good relationships with residents, loved ones, staff and other care professionals which enables her to provide the best care for those living at Towy Castle. She is very proud of the success of the home and the excellent reputation it up holds within the local community.
