Towy Castle
Towy Castle was originally developed as a mansion during the 18th and 19th century. It is set in 3 acres of grounds which offer spectacular views over the Towy estuary. It has operated as a care home for over 35 years and for the
last 24 years, has been successfully run by the previous owners.
The philosophy of the home is that the care of the individual is the number one priority and that each resident should be treated with dignity and respect. The overall objective of the home is to have the highest standard of care, thereby ensuring that our residents consider Towy Castle as their home and not just a place to live. The staff at Towy Castle are dedicated well trained people many of whom have worked at Towy Castle for several years.

All bedrooms have en-suite facilities many with stunning views over the Towy Estuary and surrounding countryside.
Visiting
In addition to providing long term residential care, the home also provides a day care service where individuals can come into Towy Castle for the day and use the facilities. This service provides respite for carers and family members and provides individuals the opportunity to interact socially with others.

Chris Gregory
Home Manager
Towy Castle
Chris is the Registered Manager at Towy Castle and has worked in the care sector for 14 years. He began his career supporting children with severe learning difficulties, providing one-to-one support to children with challenging behaviour.
Since then, Chris has gained experience across a range of care settings. He spent time working within a mental health hospital, supporting patients and ensuring their care needs were met during their time in hospital. He then moved into community-based support, working with young adults living independently within the community.
Chris later progressed into domiciliary care, where he worked his way into management and managed care teams across Pembrokeshire. From there, he moved into residential care management, managing a care home in Pembrokeshire before taking the next step in his career and joining Towy Castle as Registered Manager.
Having worked in care for many years and across a variety of different environments, Chris believes strongly that good care should always start with the individual. He believes care should be person-centred and built around each person’s choices, preferences, independence and what matters most to them. For Chris, a care home should be much more than somewhere a person receives care; it should be their home, where they feel valued, listened to and able to enjoy life.
As a manager, Chris is approachable and always happy to listen. Building strong relationships with residents, families and the staff team is extremely important to him. He welcomes feedback and believes that listening to the people who live and work at Towy Castle, as well as their families, is one of the best ways for the home to continue developing and improving.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, getting outdoors, enjoying good food and following football.
Chris is proud to be leading the team at Towy Castle and is excited about what they can achieve together. His aim is for Towy Castle to be somewhere residents are proud to call home, staff are proud to work and families feel happy and confident choosing for their loved ones.
