Bethan J Evans

Chief Executive Officer

Bethan has worked within Health and Social Care for almost 30 years and has operated at Executive/Board level for over 17 years; leading on strategic/operational management and business development within Health & Social Care, Social Housing and Welfare to Work.

 

Having worked within local government, not-for-profit and the private sector, she has operated within the space of Commissioner and Provider of Services.

Bethan has a strong track record of leading organisations and teams to deliver strong performance, business development/growth, managing complex change and building resilience across the business. With a passion for supporting people to achieve their aspirations, Bethan enjoys nothing more than visiting our Homes, spending time speaking with our residents and staff alike.

 

Bethan is the Responsible and Nominated Individual with Regulators, across the My Choice Healthcare Group.

 

Bethan also holds a public appointment as a Non-Executive Director at the Welsh Ambulance Services’ NHS Trust and within this, Chairs the Quality & Patient Safety Committee.

Sandra Malpeli

Executive Director of Operations - Wales

Desley has worked in Operations and Project Management for over 30 years, with the last 10 years at a Director level.

 

She has worked in various Health and Social Care settings; including mainstream Social Care, GP Out of Hours Services and Occupational Health. Within social care, she has extensive experience of leading residential, supporting living and domiciliary care service provision, for both Older People and for younger adults with a Learning Disability/Autism/Mental Illness.

 

With a keen commercial acumen, Desley has a strong track record of driving service performance and improvement, business development and of systems’ development to maximise service/business performance. Desley is committed towards delivering truly person centred care and support and developing bespoke solutions to meet individuals’ needs. She is passionate about achieving the very best that we can for those that we support.

 

Sandra Malpeli is an experienced senior leader in health and social care with a strong track record of delivering safe, effective and sustainable services across England, Wales and Scotland. Her career spans private providers, National Health Service-funded services and local authority partnerships, giving her a broad understanding of the operational, financial and regulatory challenges within complex care organisations.

Previously Regional Managing Director at Allied Healthcare, Sandra held full accountability for large multi-site operations delivering around 78,000 hours of care each week across 38 locations. She was responsible for financial performance, operational delivery and regulatory compliance, while leading senior management teams and implementing robust performance frameworks to support quality improvement and organisational growth.

 

Sandra is passionate about improving care standards and building strong leadership cultures. She has led large-scale quality improvement programmes across care homes, strengthened governance and supported organisations through periods of transformation and growth. Her leadership approach is practical, values-led and focused on empowering teams to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.

Drew Smith

Head of Strategy & Business Development

 

​Drew is a strategic and people‑centred leader with almost 20 years' experience delivering large‑scale government programmes and strengthening service performance across complex, multi‑stakeholder environments. He brings a strong track record in driving operational improvement, securing partnerships with commissioners and local authorities, and leading turnaround strategies that deliver meaningful results for people and communities.

 

His passion for collaboration, culture and continuous improvement, alongside a proven ability to translate strategy into practical, person‑focused delivery supports My Choice Healthcare’s mission to make a real difference to every life we touch.

Ian is My Choice Healthcare’s Property Manager and is responsible for overseeing maintenance, ensuring the upkeep of all homes and maintaining compliance with fire safety regulations across the company.

Ian has worked in the construction industry for 40 years, gaining experience with both national and regional construction companies. He has developed valuable expertise across all sectors, including new-build and refurbishment care home projects. With his extensive commercial background and experience in managing the procurement of goods and services, Ian is well placed to manage and oversee the maintenance, continual improvement and compliance of our homes.

Julia Allen is the Human Resources Manager, with responsibility for the HR Function.  With 30 years of experience in HR, Julia is a CIPD qualified professional who has worked in the private and public sectors in various roles.

 

Julia has spent the last 20 years holding key roles within local government and has a wealth of knowledge supporting the care sector. With a proven track record in workforce planning, recruitment, reward and organisational staff development.

 

Julia's skills have a strong focus on enabling staff to perform at their best. Having completed a ILM Level 5 in Coaching, she is able to use these skills in her management style.

 

Julia is passionate about the value people bring to an organisation and firmly believes that engaged, supported employees are central to achieving long term success.

Lisa is an experienced Business Support Manager with over 20 years of delivering high-quality administrative and operational support across fast-paced and regulated environments. She spent 20 years in the civil service, where she managed teams, planned and attended inspections, training events and handled complaints with a strong focus on compliance and safeguarding.

Throughout her career, Lisa has supported Senior Managers directly in delivering organisational objectives, managing projects and developing policies and procedures. Her background also includes experience in education, customer service and youth leadership, gained both in the UK and abroad.

Lisa is passionate about process improvement and working closely with people, taking a proactive approach to ensuring smooth service delivery aligned with organisational goals. She enjoys building strong relationships and bringing out the best in people through effective communication and teamwork.
