Step by Step our Carer Elaine walks 62 miles for Dementia UK!

Elaine Williams, one of our dedicated carers at our Towy Castle Residential Home in Carmarthen, set herself a challenge to raise money for Dementia UK by walking 62 miles during October.

Working closely with residents living with dementia every day, Elaine was inspired to do something meaningful for the people she cares for.

She said “I really enjoyed the challenge although it was hard at times after working a full shift and with the wet and windy autumn weather!”.

All those steps in the wind and rain and the aching feet have raised an incredible £600!  Elaine spoke to Dementia UK to ask that all funds go directly towards providing a special treat for the residents at Towy Castle. We are still planning what that will be, but we look forward to sharing the outcome with you soon!

Dementia UK is a charity very close to our hearts at My Choice Healthcare, the condition affects so many families, and we are proud to do all we can to support the charity and to care for those living with Dementia in our homes.
