We are incredibly proud to announce that Shan Jones has been shortlisted as a finalist for the 2025 Caring in Welsh Award!

The Caring in Welsh Award is an annual honour that recognises, celebrates and shares the work of individuals who have made a real difference by delivering care and support through the medium of Welsh. It highlights exceptional people working across social care, social work, childcare, play and early years in all sectors - public, private, voluntary and co-operative.

Shan works in the dementia unit at Towy Care Home and has dedicated an incredible 29 years to enriching the lives of residents. Her ability to engage with individuals in their native Welsh language brings comfort, connection and a sense of belonging to those in her care.

Described as unassuming, warm and patient, Shan sees her work not as a job but as a true calling. Outside of work, she enjoys attending agricultural shows, walking and caring for animals on her family’s farm. Known for her bubbly, energetic and fun-loving nature, Shan brings that same spirit into the home every day.
