Glyncornel Residents Outing

Residents from our Glyncornel Nursing Home in Tonypandy recently enjoyed a very special afternoon outing to Clydach Lakes.

After lots of planning and careful organisation, the team were delighted to take residents on a trip to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. They spent time walking around the lakes, feeding the ducks, enjoying ice creams and soaking up some much-needed fresh air.

For residents receiving nursing care, outings like these can be much more complex to arrange. Every trip requires detailed planning to ensure the right equipment, staffing levels, medication, transport and individual care needs are all carefully considered, enabling everyone to enjoy the experience safely and comfortably. While organising these outings takes time and teamwork, the rewards are immeasurable.

The joy this experience brought to the residents was plain to see. Seeing them smiling, chatting with passers-by, reminiscing and simply enjoying being part of the world around them was incredibly special. Moments like these provide so much more than a change of scenery, they promote wellbeing, encourage social connection, stimulate memories and create meaningful experiences that enrich everyday life.
